Terms of Use

These Terms explain the rules for using YouWriter, creating an account, publishing content and interacting with other users.

Last updated13 July 2026

1. Acceptance and scope

These Terms apply when you browse YouWriter, create an account, publish a work, comment, review or use any other platform feature.

By using the service, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms. If you do not agree, do not create an account or continue using restricted features.

2. Account and eligibility

You are responsible for providing accurate registration information, keeping your credentials secure and for activity performed through your account.

You must have the legal capacity required in your country to accept these Terms. Where local law requires permission from a parent or guardian, that permission must be obtained before using the service.

  • Do not share access to your account with people who are not authorised to use it.
  • Tell the platform promptly if you suspect unauthorised access.
  • One person must not use accounts to evade restrictions, sanctions or moderation decisions.

3. Your content and your rights

You retain the rights you hold in texts, covers, illustrations, comments and other content that you upload.

To operate the service, you grant YouWriter a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, technically process, reproduce for delivery, display and distribute your content within the platform and its public pages. This licence is limited to operating, promoting and improving the service and ends when the content is deleted, except for technical backups, legal obligations and content already lawfully shared by others.

You must only upload content that you created or are legally authorised to use.

4. Acceptable use

YouWriter is a literary service. Users must act lawfully, respect other people and follow the Publishing Rules.

  • Do not publish illegal content, malicious code, fraud, spam or deceptive material.
  • Do not harass, threaten, impersonate or unlawfully disclose another person’s private information.
  • Do not interfere with platform security, automated limits or technical operation.
  • Do not scrape, copy or commercially exploit content without permission or a lawful basis.

5. Moderation, reports and enforcement

The platform may review reports and content, request corrections, limit visibility, add warnings, suspend publication, restrict features or remove content when reasonably necessary to enforce these Terms, the Publishing Rules or applicable law.

Where practical and lawful, the affected user may receive a reason and an opportunity to appeal. Immediate action may be taken where delay could create harm, legal risk or a security threat.

7. Service availability and changes

The service may be updated, interrupted or changed for maintenance, security, legal or product reasons. Specific features may be added, modified or discontinued.

YouWriter does not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every feature will always remain unchanged. Reasonable care is taken to preserve user content and service continuity.

8. Suspension and account closure

You may stop using the platform and request account closure through available account or support tools.

The platform may suspend or close an account for serious or repeated violations, security threats, fraud, legal requirements or attempts to evade enforcement. Data may be retained where necessary for legal, security or dispute-resolution purposes.

9. Disclaimers and liability

User content represents the views of its authors. YouWriter does not endorse every work, comment or review and cannot guarantee its accuracy, quality or suitability.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided on an “as available” basis. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, including liability for intentional misconduct or other mandatory consumer rights.

10. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be updated when the service, law or operating practices change. The current version and update date will be published on this page.

Material changes may be communicated through the platform. Continued use after the effective date means that the updated Terms apply, where permitted by law.
